The story behind it
For centuries, farmers have stood straw-stuffed figures dressed in old clothes in their fields to keep crows and other birds away from the growing crops. He stands watch all summer long, and when the corn comes in and the Thanksgiving table is set, nobody thinks to save him a seat.
