About this design

The story behind it
In the Gospel of Luke, an angel brings the news of Jesus's birth to the shepherds, the part every Christmas pageant angel gets to play. Francis of Assisi is credited with the first living nativity scene, held at Greccio, Italy, in 1223, with a manger, hay, an ox and a donkey.
