About this design
A white blouse, a long green skirt and a strip of yellow wallpaper.
The story behind it
Charlotte Perkins Gilman's 1892 story follows a woman kept in a rented room by a doctor's rest cure that forbids her to write. Gilman drew on her own experience of the treatment, and the story is now a landmark of feminist literature.
