About this design

The story behind it
In 1732 Laura Bassi earned a doctorate at the University of Bologna, one of the first women in Europe to do so. In 1776 she was named professor of experimental physics at Bologna's Institute of Sciences, with her husband, the physicist Giuseppe Veratti, serving as her assistant.
