About this design
A friendly ox beside a wooden manger full of hay.
The story behind it
The Gospel of Luke mentions a manger, but neither Luke nor Matthew mentions an ox or a donkey. The animals come from later Christian tradition: early writers connected the scene to a line in the Book of Isaiah about an ox that knows its owner and a donkey that knows its master's manger, and a Roman stone carving from about 330 to 350, one of the earliest surviving nativity scenes, already shows an ox and a donkey beside the manger. Artists have painted them there ever since.
Proposed colors: Natural
Mockups show the print at true scale on a size M tee. Colors are proposed, not final.
