About this design
White hair, round glasses, a quill and a scroll.
The story behind it
Clement Clarke Moore (1779-1863) was a New York scholar who taught Oriental and Greek literature, including Hebrew, at the General Theological Seminary, and he published a Hebrew dictionary in 1809. He is credited with the poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas," first printed anonymously in the Troy Sentinel on December 23, 1823. It was first credited to him in print in 1837, and he included it in his own poems in 1844. The family of Henry Livingston Jr. later credited him instead, so authorship is still debated, which is why we say "credited with."
Proposed colors: Natural
Mockups show the print at true scale on a size M tee. Colors are proposed, not final.
